Subversion (SVN) HOWTO
1. Subclipse
1.1. Installation
- Get the Subclipse plugin for your version of Eclipse (http://subclipse.tigris.org/)
- Follow the installation guidelines
1.2. Import a project from the OpenDRIM SVN repository
- Launch the project wizard:
- In the SVN group select Checkout Projects from SVN:
- You can either create a new repository location or use an existing one. The root of the OpenDRIM SVN repository is http://www.opendrim.org/svn/opendrim.
- From the OpenDRIM SVN repository select the directory that contains the sources you are interested in:
- Note: A SVN project directory contains 3 subdirectories: branches, tags, trunk. The current main development branch is contained in trunk therefore we selected http://www.opendrim.org/svn/opendrim/Linux_Management_Providers/Simple_Identity_Management/trunk in the example.
1.3. Stay scynchronized!
- Once a SVN project is successfully imported you have access to many functions in the 'team' group (right click on the project): commit, update, synchronize, etc.
2. Rapid SVN (Linux)
- Rapid SVN is an SVN browser for Linux (http://rapidsvn.tigris.org)
- Follow the installation guidelines (Rapid SVN is available in Fedora core)
- The interface is intuitive and you have access to all the basic SVN features
3. Tortoise SVN (Windows)
- Tortoise SVN is a SVN client for MS Windows (http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/)
- Tortoise SVN functions are available from the Windows shell and integrated in Windows Explorer. It also has a browsing feature.
