Step 0: Remove previous version of PCG

• Locate Eclipse plugins and features directories:
  • These directories are in the Eclipse installation directory and may be in you home directory in the .eclipse directory.
• In these directories delete everything starting with org.opendrim.pcg
• If you were running an older version of the PCG before then you HAVE TO go to the Eclipse workspace directory and delete a directory called '.JETEmitters'. When you shutdown Eclipse you will see an error message. Ignore this message.
• Restart Eclipse and check that the PCG is not installed.

Step 1: Sun Java

• Sun Java is now Open Source and it is therefore included in most Linux distributions. Make sure you are using the Sun Java by executing since other Java environments are NOT compatible with the Provider Code Generator.
  • Install Sun Java SE Development Kit (JDK) OR Runtime Environment (JRE) (version 5 or upper).

Step 2: Eclipse Installation

• Get Eclipse from the Eclipse Download Page (The OpenDRIM PCG is compatible with version 3 or upper).
• Run Eclipse and launch the online Software Update Wizard from Help / Software Updates / Find and Install. Make sure the following components are installed:
  • Europa Discovery Site / C and C++ Development / Eclipse C/C++ Development Tools (CDT)
  • Europa Discovery Site / Models and Model Development / Eclipse Modeling Framework Runtime + End-User Tools (EMF)
  • Europa Discovery Site / Models and Model Development / Java Emitter Templates (JET)

Step 3: OpenDRIM PCG Installation

• Run Eclipse and launch the online Software Update Wizard from Help / Software Updates / Find and Install.
• Create a New Remote Site (OpenDRIM PCG Eclipse update location is ftp://www.opendrim.org/pub/PCG).

• Search for updates from the newly-created Remote Site and check Other / OpenDRIM Provider Code Generator in the search results.

• Accept the license agreement and install the PCG feature.

• Restart Eclipse
